For the past eight years, UCL Taekwondo has been the largest and most successful university Taekwondo club in the UK! Our club offers a fantastic way to stay fit, learn self-defence, and, most importantly, connect with a welcoming and supportive community.
We welcome members of all abilities and backgrounds, from complete beginners to experienced black belts, and tailor our training sessions to ensure everyone can progress at their own pace. Whether you're looking to compete, improve your skills, or just have fun, there's a place for you at UCL Taekwondo!

At UCL Taekwondo, you'll be trained by our three incredible, internationally recognized coaches: Sai, Georgina, and Bianca! Each of them competes or coaches at the national and international level, ensuring you receive top-tier guidance. You couldn't ask for better mentors!
Our club offers access to a variety of classes and disciplines, allowing you to choose what suits you best:
🥋 WT, ITF, Freestyle Sparring, and Patterns.
- If you're a fighter at heart, sparring will be an exciting challenge.
- If you love choreography and want to craft your own routines, freestyle is for you.
- If you prefer performing patterns solo, in pairs, or as a team, poomsae is the way to go.
- Can’t decide? No worries—we encourage you to try them all!
Beyond our core training sessions led by our coaches and captains, we offer extra weekly sessions like our run club and yoga/Pilates, helping you build endurance and strength in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Even if you’re a complete beginner, you'll have the opportunity to grade and compete in up to three competitions per year, providing plenty of chances to grow and bond with your teammates. While the idea of competing might seem intimidating, our members genuinely look forward to it—it’s one of the most fun and rewarding parts of the club experience!

Membership Tiers
Term 1 Membership (£80) - ALL sessions (up to 6 trainings a week) and ALL competitions (3 per year + any inter-uni ones), competition travel and entry fees, grading! However, we do not oblige you to take part in everything if you choose not to, which is more than fine!
Term 2 Membership (£60) - for members who wish to start in Term 2, same access except 1 less competition.

Tuesdays (8-10pm): Padwork – Somers Town Sports Centre, 134 Chalton St, London, NW1 1RX
Wednesdays (beginners: 7:00-8:30pm, advanced: 8:30-10:00pm): Sparring - Multi Purpose Room, Bloomsbury Theatre building, 15 Gordon Street, London, WC1H 0AH
Thursdays (7-8:30pm): Run Club - Regent's Park Station
Fridays (6-8pm): ITF - 2.18, Chadwick Building
Saturdays (10am-12pm): Poomsae – Somers Town Sports Centre, 134 Chalton St, London, NW1 1RX
