UCL Wheelchair Basketball Club is a brand-new society welcoming everyone - whether you have a disability or not. Their goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive community while enjoying the sport and raising awareness for disability sport at UCL.
The UCL Wheelchair Basketball Club, newly affiliated this year, has rapidly grown into a beacon of diversity, inclusion, and accessibility at UCL.
By bringing together disabled and non-disabled students, we have fostered informal and meaningful conversations around disability, helping to build empathy and awareness.
We also proudly hosted our own panel on diversity and inclusion in sport during term two - an impactful and well-attended event, including from TeamUCL staff, that challenged stereotypes and centred the voices of those with physical and non-physical disabilities.

The UCL Amateur Boxing Club provides exceptional quality boxing training at an unbeatable price.
From rebuilding our squad and achieving national results, to reinventing our image and setting the stage for a new era, this year has truly been one of the most impressive and exciting periods in the club’s history.

Some highlights from the Community Awards shortlist
The International Students' Network supports the development of an engaging, dynamic and rewarding community of international students and represent the needs and interests of international students within the Union.
Over the past year, the International Students’ Network (ISN) has grown from an idea into a thriving and dynamic student-led community (of 400+ members) that uplifts, represents, and celebrates UCL’s diverse international population

Zero Food Waste is a student-led project at UCL that aims to tackle food waste on campus. They redistribute food from where it is in excess to where it is in need. Find out more about their work.
Zero Food Waste has made a positive impact by contributing to UCL’s sustainability and improving food security of the local community. Between September 2024 and April 2025, we have prevented over 4000 food items from going to waste.
Instead of being disposed of and contributing to the UCL community’s carbon footprint, the food has instead gone to feeding homeless people and local residents around Euston.

Some highlights from the Societies Awards shortlist
UCL dermatology society aims to raise awareness and inspire students about the various aspects of dermatology as a specialty.
By addressing these gaps, we contribute to the broader mission of health equity in dermatology. One of the most powerful aspects of the workshop was its role in initiating meaningful conversations around race, representation, and healthcare disparities.
It provided a safe space for discussions about the lived experiences of individuals with skin of colour, as well as the systemic issues that contribute to their underrepresentation in dermatology
Some highlights from the Arts Awards shortlist
UCL Drama Society offers an abundance of experience that, as well as being great for a well-rounded CV, also provides a chance to socialise with a diverse bunch of people who all love to create.
Cross-society collaboration was essential - from our partnership with the Slade School of Fine Art on an angel sculpture, to producing original composition with Live Music Society. Feedback from all collaborators highlighted strong communication, adaptability, and shared commitment
