Anyone interested in giving dodgeball a go can turn up to a session and chat to a member of the committee. New members are always welcome, first sessions are free, and there’s no pressure to commit.

Alongside classes, the club places a big focus on meeting people and making friends. Regular socials make it easy to meet like-minded people and build community here at UCL. They are always looking for new members.

RUMS Women’s Football is known across UCL Medical School for being fun, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The club is open to everyone, no matter how you identify or how much football you’ve played before. A lot of members try football for the first time at uni, and that’s completely normal here. There are no trials. If you want to play football, you can play football. It really is that simple.

The season runs from October to March, with two LUSL teams playing on Sundays and BUCS fixtures on Wednesdays, which are open to all players in the club. Training takes place on Monday nights at Whittington Park’s all-weather pitch, with additional sessions in Regent’s Park on Wednesdays and Sundays when there aren’t matches.

Off the pitch, the club is just as social. Wednesdays often mean Mully’s Bar, with games, singing, themed nights and the occasional dance floor appearance. For anyone who prefers something more low-key, there are also games nights, meals, movie nights and other socials across the year.

For anyone looking to play fun, pressure-free football and make a great group of friends along the way, RUMS WFC is a solid place to start. The club is aso accredited Pride in Sport.

Why January is a great time to join

January is all about fresh starts and it’s one of the best times to find your passion at UCL. Many clubs and societies run taster sessions, welcome beginners, and offer a low-pressure way to get started. You don’t need any experience, and you don’t need to know anyone already involved.

Trying something new doesn’t mean committing forever. It’s about showing up, giving it a go, and seeing what fits around your life and studies.
