Join the UCL Chaplain and Interfaith Adviser in attending an Interfaith Iftar at the Muslim World League London Office

We are invited to join for an evening of reflection and community at their Ramadan Iftar (fast-breaking). Ramadan is a holy month of fasting in the Islamic calendar and the iftar is the daily breaking of the fast.

Who?

This trip is open to anyone interested in learning more about Islam. People from all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to attend. All levels of understanding and knowledge are welcome, but it is especially suitable if you have a limited understanding of Islamic beliefs, practices, and identity.  It is a great opportunity to discover first hand the deep significance of Ramadan.

  • Strengthen good relations by increasing understanding of different faiths.
  • Increase awareness of a distinct faith community in the UK.

Schedule for the evening:

  • Gathering 4:15- 4:30 PM inside the main entrance of the Student Centre on Gordon Square. We depart promptly at 4:30 PM.
  • Arrival: 4:45 PM .
  • Welcome & Introduction: 5:00 PM.  
  • Inspirational Talk: 5:05 PM – 5:25 PM .
  • Q&A Session: 5:30 PM – 5:45 PM.
  • Breaking of the Fast: 5:51 PM, followed by the Maghrib prayer (which you are invited to observe). 
  • Dinner: 6:10 PM.
  • Departure: You are welcome to leave whenever you need to after Dinner.

What is included in my ticket? Entrance ticket to the Muslim World League London Office and dinner.

How long will we be at the Muslim World League London Office for? Approximately 2 hours.  

Where is the departure and when should I arrive at the departure point? We are meeting inside the main entrance of the Student Centre

What should I wear? Clothing must be modest. It is optional for female visitors to wear a head scarf.

What should I bring along on the trip? As the weather in the UK can be unpredictable, we advise you to wear appropriate clothing in case of rainy and cold weather during our walk. 

Are tickets refundable? The tickets are free of charge, but we ask that you honour your booking and turn up for the event to minimise any food wastage. 

Is this trip fully accessible? Yes. If you have any accessibility needs, please share any details that we should be aware of when purchasing your ticket.
