Nigel Biggar is Regius Professor Emeritus of Moral and Pastoral Theology at the University of Oxford and a Conservative member of the House of Lords. His book Colonialism: A Moral Reckoning (2023) sparked one of the most heated debates in British public life in recent years. He'll talk about the moral history of empire, why the argument became so fierce, and what it tells us about the culture wars today. After the talk there's a chaired Q&A.
