“Our group develops novel devices and technologies that enable imaging and sensing in a range of interventional procedures. Using fibre-optic technology, such devices are readily miniaturized, and therefore ideally suited to minimally invasive surgery. In addition, their inherent compatibility with traditionally challenging scenarios, such as MRI scanners or radiotherapy, will enable applications in a range of currently inaccessible procedures and scenarios.”
Dr Alles is the Principal Investigator of Multimodal Interventional Sensing and Imaging (MISI) group in the department of Biomedical Engineering. In this talk, he will explain his research on optical ultrasound, and will be able to answer your questions!
