Should an AI doctor be allowed to diagnose you without a human double-checking? Is it impossible to defend for designer babies?
We’ve got some controversial opinions on the future of healthcare, AI and genetics ethics, and we’re inviting you to join us in the conversations.
Join Bioethics & Medical Law Society and Genetics Society for a debate night with a twist. No preparation or debating experience needed: just come and have some fun “arguing”!
How It Works
* You sit in small groups and discuss within the group for each motion.
* We give you a "Cheat Sheet" of facts for every motion.
* Our moderator will go around the room to give you hints and help develop your arguments.
* Present your ideas to the room after group discussions.
* You can debate forth and back with the moderator, challenge other ideas, or just listen in to the chaos.
Come watch us try to defend the indefensible, or step up and join in yourself. And yes, there will be snacks.
