CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR SPORTS AWARDS WINNERSOn Wednesday 01 June we celebrated all things sport at TeamUCL! The day started with the Sports Awards in Bloomsbury Theatre, followed by a Reception on the Wilkins Terrace and concluded with a Sports Dinner in the beautifully decorated JBR.
Team England Commonwealth Games Selection
Deborah Alawode, Gold Elite Athlete on the TeamUCL High Performance Programme, has secured selection for Team England and will be competing in the 76kg Weightlifting class at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this summer!
BUCS Play-Off Success
For some Premier and Tier 1 teams, April and May plays host to some of the biggest games of the season – The Play-Offs. Play-offs are what decides teams’ fate for the 2022/23 season. Win, and teams will compete at the highest level of University Sport.

National Success for Deborah Alawode
Saturday 26 June marked the date for one of the most important weight lifting qualifying events for the 2022 Commonwealth Games – The British Weight Lifting Championships. TeamUCL elite athlete and medical student, Deborah Alawode, put in a magnificent performance to claim Gold in the Women’s 76kg weight class.
