What is ExtendED Learning?

ExtendED is a collaboration between UCL and Students' Union UCL, offering a diverse range of learning opportunities in Term 3. Whether you're interested in one-off workshops, conferences, in-depth consultancy challenges, or innovation labs, the ExtendED programme allows you to explore new areas beyond assessments and dissertation.

This initiative provides a unique chance to build valuable skills and competencies without the pressure of grades. You'll also have access to a skills mapping platform to track your personal development and showcase your growth.

The programme is designed for experimentation and innovation, enabling you to make a positive impact on society while expanding your learning. With various formats, time commitments, and schedules available, there's something for everyone to get involved in. 

Now is the time to invest in your future at your own pace, by curating your own learning experience, and having fun while making friends at the same time!

The Connect With Communities strand of ExtendED Learning is your chance to explore new ideas, build real-world skills, and take on exciting challenges - with experts from local non-profit community organisations. Prepare to be taken out of the classroom, either by attending activities hosted in the local community or by tackling pressing issues facing organisations. Whether it's a hands-on workshop, an innovation lab, or a consultancy project, this is your opportunity to step outside your studies and try something new.

Most activities have limited capacity and booking may not confirm your space if we are oversubscribed. Sustainability Leadership Conference

9-11 June, UCL East

The Sustainability Leadership Conference, co-delivered by Sustainable UCL and Students' Union UCL, will bring together students, experts and organisations to discuss the biggest issue facing the world today, and how to tackle it. The next generation of climate leaders are studying at UCL today and the Sustainability Leadership Conference will empower students to find sustainable solutions to global issues.  

The conference aims to inspire, upskill and empower students to become climate leaders. It’s themed around three key strands:  

  • Understanding climate change and environmental sustainability
  • Sustainability leadership
  • Skills development including communication skills.  

New for 2025: 

The Sustainability Leadership Conference is expanding to three days, with delegates able to join for one, two or three days. Alongside a range of expert speakers, you will also have the opportunity to meet community organisations, get hands-on with sustainability initiatives, enhance your debating and communication skills, and network.
