A one-off cultural exchange between UCL students and school children.

Do you want to teach children cultural traditions, geography or about a language you are passionate about? Then this is the opportunity for you!

We are looking for volunteers who speak another language to plan and deliver workshops for primary school children here at UCL. You’ll work in teams to teach children about cultural traditions, people, geography and language through fun and interactive activities. Volunteers will either be native speakers or will be learning the language, only a basic level is needed.

Educational specialists will offer support and all resources will be provided. If you want to be involved in the Language & Cultural Day, you need to attend the planning meeting which will be held on Wednesday 7th May, 10-12pm. You will also need to plan additional meetings with your group to finalise arrangements before the event taking place on Wednesday 11th June, 9am-2pm.

This is a great opportunity for you to share a little bit about your culture or language with some young children in an educational setting.

We would also welcome Cultural Society members. Think about your informal language learning or other cultural sharing you do within the student community... and extend them to local school pupils! All you have to do is adapt your work to be suitable for school pupils. Flex your teaching and delivery muscles and try out your passions for a different audience.

You'll receive guidance on how to develop your session and we'll cover all reasonable costs for materials. Local London schools will be invited.

Complete our webform to secure your place on this cultural exchange event!

We will ask you to confirm your space closer to the time. If the event becomes oversubscribed, we will email all ticket holders asking them to confirm their space.
