As a Student Trustee, I hope to ensure that the Union continues to make decisions that reflect and benefit UCL's diverse student body. I want to help strengthen transparency, accountability, and inclusion in how resources and policies are managed. By bringing the perspective of a first-year international student, I aim to represent voices that might otherwise go unheard and contribute to discussions that shape a fairer and more student-centred Union. My goal is to help the Union uphold its values while ensuring that our decisions leads to positive, meaningful impact on the student experience.
I bring a combination of leadership, communication, and analytical skills developed through my experience in the student council and Girl Guides, where I learned to work collaboratively, manage responsibilities, and make fair decisions. I am dependable and capable of approaching complex issues with both empathy and critical thinking. As an international student, I can offer a fresh perspective on how Union decisions affect students from different backgrounds. Additionally, I am confident in engaging constructively with others to ensure the Union’s governance reflects the needs of all students.
I am committed to representing your interests with integrity and responsibility. I believe everyone deserves to feel confident that the Union is using its resources effectively and making decisions that truly serve the community. With my leadership background and understanding of diverse student experiences, I can bring a balanced, thoughtful voice to the Board of Trustees. I will work to ensure the Union remains transparent, accountable, and focused on improving student life. As Student Trustee, I will act as a bridge between students and leadership.
Based on the SU's needs from the Feb 2025 board minutes ( latest one accessible), if elected, I aim to:
- strengthen the Union’s governance and transparency so that every strategic decision genuinely reflects student needs.
- ensure financial stability while embedding equity and inclusion into how resources and opportunities are distributed.
- bridge the gap between students and the Board—translating lived experiences into policies that are accountable, ethical, and forward-thinking — creating clearer pathways for all students to shape and access social impact, enterprise and learning opportunities.
I bring experience in governance, financial oversight, and data-driven decision-making. As a former Faculty Rep and Degree Rep, I’ve collaborated with senior leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders to improve education policies and representation informing university-wide decisions. My work as a Think-tank and Impact Analyst strengthened my understanding of accountability and ethical governance — I can confidently interpret complex data and make evidence-based recommendations — skills I’ll apply to ensure transparency, responsible spending, and meaningful student impact at Board level.
Vote for me if you want a Union that is transparent in its decisions, responsible with its resources, and ambitious for every student. I have a clear track record of identifying areas for improvement and driving collaborative changes to achieve measurable results and as a Trustee, I’ll work to ensure that student voices genuinely shape our priorities and funding. I believe in fairness, accountability, and long-term impact—building a Union that empowers represents, and supports every member of our diverse UCL community to thrive and feel truly seen.
I hope to ensure that our SU fulfills its mission to provide the best possible experience for UCL students, and to represent the students’ voice as a trustee.
As Treasurer for a hobby-based society, I have some experience in organizing the finances of an SU society.
I have taken on many tasks in a small committee, which has built both my experience as a leader and a team player. It has also given me a breadth of knowledge on the functioning of the Student Union and the regulations and mission that we adhere to.
As a member of a broad swathe of clubs, societies and networks, I understand the activities of the SU.
I have maintained several full-time jobs in the past, and have experience balancing working and studying responsibilities.
Students should vote for someone who takes their leadership responsibilities seriously, who is meticulous about ensuring their duties our fulfilled.
They should vote for someone who cares about helping the Student Union provide the best possible experience for all students, of all cultures, genders and ages, whether they be attending Bloomsbury, UCL East or Canary Wharf, undergrad or postgrad, commuting or living on-site and studying part-time or full-time.
They should vote for someone who will work tirelessly to make sure our SU remains the best Student Union in the country!
I aim to champion inclusive, data-informed decision-making that enhances student wellbeing, academic equity, and access to opportunity. I’ll advocate for transparent governance, amplify underrepresented voices, and ensure student perspectives shape UCL’s strategic direction—especially around digital innovation, mental health, and career development.
I bring stakeholder engagement experience, analytical rigour, and a track record of impact through research, governance, and advocacy. As a former ARC member, I co-authored reports that shaped public health strategy, assessed grant proposals for research funding, and sat on advisory boards as a young person delegate for hospital-wide issues. Through YPAG, I advised national campaigns and co-edited articles on healthcare equity. My background in public health policy and patient advocacy equips me to navigate complex issues and communicate solutions effectively across diverse communities.
I’ll amplify diverse voices, challenge inequities, and ensure student needs shape UCL’s future. I’ve spent years advocating for young people: from national healthcare campaigns to my role as a course rep during my Biomedical Sciences degree, I have ensured student needs are heard, represented, and prioritised. With experience in data analysis, healthcare strategy, and youth representation, I’m committed to building a more inclusive, responsive, and empowering university environment. As trustee, I’ll translate student voices into action and make them a driving force for change across UCL.

⚙️ Already At Work!
It's slow going because I'm not in a position of much responsibility
Whether you vote for me or not i'm going to keep working, being a Trustee will just get things going faster.
Actively participate in various activities, do one's best to safeguard the interests of the school, fulfill one's duties, view things fairly and justly, and strictly abide by the contract.
As a Trustee i will have a legal responsibility to act only in the best interests of Students' Union UCL, putting the Union’s interests before any of your own.
I have been a member of the school student union since primary, junior high and high school. I once served as the vice - chairperson. I have excellent communication skills and strong organizational abilities. When I was the class monitor, I organized many class activities, such as choir competitions, hiking trips, and the evaluation for the honor of an outstanding class, etc.
I have rich experience in hosting and public speaking. I have participated in many relevant competitions and won awards. In my first year of high school, I won the national first prize in the Constitution competition.
1.I have similar experiences.
2. I can learn relevant matters modestly and have a heart to serve everyone.
3. I am a responsible person and also someone who loves to help others.
4.I will put the overall situation first and strive for greater benefits for the school.
5.As someone with a background in science and management, I am very rigorous in dealing with things and love to conduct in - depth research. I like to view things rationally and always seek truth from facts when doing things.
6. I am a cheerful and confident person.
Being a student trustee will give me a deeper understanding of what it means to contribute to something bigger than myself. By collaborating with trustees and student representatives across faculties and societies, I will take on responsibilities that serve the best interests of the Union. I aim to develop leadership grounded in integrity and selflessness, making legal and financial decisions that reflect the diversity of students at UCL and ultimately strengthen the University’s backbone. I also hope to ensure that all decisions remain student-centred and impactful.
I naturally get on well with all kinds of people from various backgrounds, which I think is key for a student trustee as it helps me listen openly and have honest conversations. Since I was 16, I've managed a social media account with a team reaching millions globally, where I learned to consider diverse perspectives, make thoughtful decisions, and communicate effectively with others. Creating and leading my own society gave me first-hand insight into the support students may need and especially value, and taught me to take responsibility while staying approachable to my team.
Through my ongoing work with charities such as Starlight UK, I have gained first-hand insight into the financial and legal responsibilities behind running a charity like the Union. I want to use these experiences to help make thoughtful, transparent decisions that strengthen the Union’s role at UCL. As a trustee, I will prioritise fairness and inclusivity, ensuring every student, from every background, has the chance to be heard and represented while helping the Union grow into an even more supportive and sustainable community.
As a trustee I would make sure that the core demographic of UCL - its students - are listened to in an understanding and proactive way. I would strive to use the Union’s budget to improve student life: meaning more comfortable student spaces, more positive changes to student accommodations, and better opportunities to socialise with other students from similar courses, accommodations and societies.
If elected, I will make sure the staff at UCL and the Student Union are both fulfilling their responsibilities and being accountable to real students’ interests. My passion for hands on leadership means that I am more than happy to get stuck in and help steer the Union’s budget in a direction that improves students’ lives at UCL; campaigning for better facilities in accommodations and increased funding for societies, trips, and social events.
Having previously held leadership positions in varying school societies (such as History Society), as well as wanting to pursue a career in the financial law sector - I am perfectly suited for this role, requiring the oversight of the Student Union’s finances, its legal compliance, as well as the empowerment of student voices. My experience in each of these aspects and my enthusiasm for making UCL a better university for everyone is exactly why students should vote for me.
As a postgraduate student with experience in corporate law, I am aware of how responsibility, transparency, and governance foster trust. While upholding its legal obligations, I want to improve monitoring and prudent resource utilisation. I want to make sure that the Board continues to be receptive to the demands of all student groups, even those who might not be actively involved in Union events all the time. In the end, as a trustee, support the union's moral operations and make sure choices benefit the student unions fairly.
- Legal Education & Background: Five years of law studies, 3 years of professional experience, and currently specialising in corporate law.
- Moot Court Association: Developed advocacy, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
- Rotaract Club: Gained leadership, project management, and teamwork experience while raising £10,000 (collectively) for cancer patients.
- Key Qualities: Committed to fairness, transparency, inclusivity, and representing student voices effectively.
- Skills – public speaking skills, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making abilities.
I genuinely care about making the Union a place where every voice is heard. Drawing on my law background and experience in the Moot Court Association and Rotaract, I aim to support fair, inclusive decisions that truly reflect and benefit our diverse student community, so every student feels valued, represented, and confident that the Union works for them.
No longer stuck in Policy Loop:
Less back-and-forth. More action. Support for clearer drafting, smoother execution. Making change easier, not exhausting.
No Hidden Deals:
Open books, ethical choices. We deserve to know who funds our Union.
No more Green-washing:
No fossil fuels. No greenwashing. Real sustainability, across every activity on the Union.
No more long hauls:
Quicker reimbursements. No more months-long waits to get your society’s tube bill back.
I strive for a Union that is driven by students, doesn't shy away from intersectional conversations and always ready for change.
Over 2 years serving in the Activities Zone for Societies, pushing for efficient funding systems, and sustainable sponsorships.
Experience on funding panels as Societies Officer. I understand how to draft clear, fair, and accessible funding criteria for all societies, arts and non-portfolio alike, ensuring a fair chance for all.
Actively opposed the Shell sponsorship of Union previous year. Sustainability isn't optional & I continue to stand by it.
Experience as a committee member across multiple societies, I know where student voices get lost in translation - I’ll make sure they’re heard.
Grassroots first. My platform will amplify neglected, minority and intersectional voices.
Good ideas shouldn't be lost in bureaucracy. I always go an extra mile to push for accessible, transparent policies.
Sustainability through collaboration. I am here to push for sustainable practices and foster collaboration across societies to embed them in all SU spaces.
As a committed, hands-on member with years of SU experience, I am here to refine, question, and represent.
Every voice will count. For mine to echo yours - vote Sree for Trustee.
Yours truly,
Sree.
UCL is a daunting place.
The union has the power to push back on this and, as trustee, I will work to three main objectives.
Affordability. So many of the problems of student life stem from the price of UCL. I will work to direct all union efforts into making UCL accessible and affordable for all
Improve transparency with union funding. We should all be able to understand what goes on in our union in open, clear terms
Wellbeing funding and efficiency. The union must do more help the most vulnerable within our community by boosting wellbeing efforts and providing long-term welfare solutions!
Now in my 4th year, I have experienced so many key student issues first-hand. I have held society committee positions across different sports both in RUMS and teamUCL, I mentored students and sought to improve student life across a variety of barriers, I have just come back from a year abroad in Argentina where union and UCL support were crucial. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance bringing people together on key issues and amplifying vulnerable voices. I will always listen to the student body above my own interests while being an enduring and strong voice on key issues.
As a student of US politics, I spend a lot of time studying the (lack of) integrity of institutions and powerful people and during my time at UCL, I have seen a annoying lack of change or real improvement to student life
The UCL union must become more transparent and do involve students in decision making. Our union should feel like a community, not a bunch of faces we don’t know!
I will act by being a voice for the most underrepresented students in our university, and I will bring about change that enacts sustainable, real impacts.
Vote Tom for a lasting voice of community in the Union.
My main objectives are to increase financial transparency from the Student's Union, and promote active dialogue surrounding the state of finances. A few key areas include:
- A review of subsidies for UCL's cafés, bars, and shops: Are these sustainable? Can prices be lowered further?
- A review of funds given to Hall Community Officers for events: Where has this money gone?
- Create a dedicated section of the SU website for explaining finances, similar to the one found on the UCL Website.
Given the limited time to enact these changes, I believe all of the above is possible within one academic year.
I have a limited financial background, having interned at the Bank of England where I worked on prudential policy. This mainly involved analysing balance sheets, reporting data, and examining banks' compliance with regulatory frameworks. This is something I believe is directly transferrable to the role of Trustee.
I have been involved with the Students Union as an academic representative for my entire degree, and have written about various topics related to UCL for the Cheese Grater Magazine, such as on student engagement with the Union or UCL's financial performance.
The policies outlined above and my articles have all been inspired by my 2-and-a-bit years at UCL. What I hope to demonstrate is that I am not running for this position purely for the sake of my own CV, but to play a role in improving student engagement and everyone's experience. This doesn't mean promising a complete shake-up or anything unrealistic, but rather a few changes that make it easier to understand how the Union functions. Wrapping your head around one of the UK's largest universities is a complicated task, so it wouldn't hurt to make information a little more accessible!
If elected, I hope to ensure the Students’ Union makes decisions that truly reflect and benefit all students, both now and in the long term. I want to ensure diverse perspectives are communicated and valued, promoting transparency so students can trust and engage with the Board. I will approach the role with fairness and accountability, helping to guide Students’ Union responsibly, so it remains sustainable, inclusive, and true to the needs of our community. Above all, I want students to feel that their voices directly shape the Union's direction and legacy.
I will bring a strong commitment to representing the student body with integrity and fairness. My ability to listen carefully and communicate clearly will help ensure diverse voices are heard at Board level. I am confident engaging with both peers and senior leaders, and I bring an eye for detail that supports responsible and accountable decision-making. Most importantly, I will bring dedication and a collaborative mindset, working to build trust and ensure Students’ Union’s decisions reflect the real needs and ambitions of students.
I hope to represent you by ensuring student perspectives are valued in the Students’ Union’s decisions. I will work to build trust between students and the Board through transparency and fairness, while bringing dedication and a collaborative mindset to every discussion. I believe that every student, no matter their background or circumstances, deserves to feel represented by the Union. My goal is to help shape Students’ Union into an inclusive, accountable, and genuinely reflective body that represents the needs and ambitions of our student community.
UCL is one of the world's greatest institutions, but one thing holds it back - unnecessary bureaucracy. My goal is simple: to cut it. You might be thinking, "Why should I care?" Because every idea, project, or improvement you have wanted to see at UCL has been slowed or stopped by this force. That is not how a great university should run. The Students' Union should work for the students, not against them - and right now, the Board of Trustees has started to forget that.
I bring brutal honesty, integrity, and already established relationships across UCL - regardless of department, year, or position. I have worked within high-level management (e.g. at my previous schools' investment fund) and research settings (several international research trips) where real accountability matters and now I know how to cut through unnecessary layers to get results. I am not here to make the Board feel comfortable, I am here to make it effective. When something is not working, I will say so - and the issue will not be fixed until us as students receive a suitable answer.
Students at UCL are ambitious, creative, and capable - we do not need more barriers, we need freedom to act. I believe the Union can become a place where ideas move quickly, funding is accessible, and students feel heard rather than managed. The Union must always be held accountable, and if I am chosen, I will make sure that accountability is not optional - it is constant.
- Strengthening Trust between Student and Union through rebuilding confidence through open dialogue accountability and action
- Holding Sabbatical Officers to account ensuring that the decisions they make continue to follow Union Bye-laws and sere student’s best interests of students
- Bringing transparency in decision making to the student population making choices and spending as well as voting decisions clear and accessible
- Ensure that I will keep focusing on priorities and needs for students from affordability to wellbeing on a political, legal and financially
I worked in Finance and Fundraising at my sixth form Union, I bring practical insight into budgeting and resource management to ensure ethical, effective decisions.
As a first-generation student, I understand how students can be let down and will bring fresh perspectives to question decisions that might be questionable.
I’ve also advised a charity on issues from homelessness to financial struggles, giving me experience representing diverse needs, advocating for fairness, and making informed, student-focused choices. I am committed to ensuring every student voice is considered and acted upon.
As Student Trustee I will be a strong, fair voice for all students ensuring the Union stays transparent, accountable and focused on your priorities. I will constantly challenge decisions that don’t serve the best decisions for students, ask tough questions and make sure that leadership stays honest and responsible all while working constructively to improve the Union for everyone.
I will make sure that every student is heard from and use my experience to turn conerns into real action
VOTE FOR ME HEHEHE
WE WANT BETTER.
I don't want to talk about my problems, I want to hear yours. Here's how:
Weekly feedback hours. In person. Every Friday for 2 hours. On campus. So I can hear you.
Through a new, dedicated Instagram account I will publish updates on every meeting, so you know what the person you voted for is doing.
I will be responsible for ensuring the SU is true to its mission of improving your life at UCL - tackling issues of home, international, under/postgrad students. I will be responsible for ensuring the SU is accountable and efficient, and that it achieves its charitable objectives.
As the winner of the 2025 Engineering Rep of the Year Award, I recognise the work that needs to be done at UCL.
Whether it affects 1 or 10,000 students, all issues deserve to be heard and tackled. Last year, despite being a first year student, I was elected as a Lead Departmental Rep.
I pushed deadlines, hosted 3 new events, consistently communicated and therefore won the Engineering Rep of the Year Award. I made dozens of strong connections in my department and faculty. I endeavour to continue my proactivity, communication and dedication in this role to ensure you have the best time at UCL.
Proactivity | Communication | Transparency
Currently serving in 4 UCL society committees and serving as Lead Departmental Rep last year, I have proven myself to be reliable. Seemingly the only first year, I was awarded the Engineering Rep of the Year award after working really hard for my course mates.
I believe I can actually demonstrate the skills others claim to have. I haven't promised any arbitrary changes, because I value your opinion and won't act without it.
I ask for your trust in being able to complete my duties and I promise proactivity, strong communication and total transparency.
If elected, I will work to ensure no student is left behind. Every topic Every voices, from studies and internships to volunteering, housing, and welfare, will be brought into decision-making with transparency.
I will support efforts to expand career and research opportunities and explore ways to connect students with internships and placements more effectively.
I will also work with the Union to strengthen accommodation support and student services, and make projects and events more inclusive and accessible to all.
- 4 years of study, 3 at Exeter & 1 at UCL.

- PR Committee, Exeter Mature Student Society, and Community Award finalist from 847 nominations.

- Youth Delegate, fully funded by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Thailand.
- Skills: project management, stakeholder analysis, financial planning, negotiation
I know what it feels like to have your voice ignored. I come from an underrepresented group, a mature student. But I made a choice. I spoke up. I negotiated. And I kept going until our voices were finally heard.
If I, once seen as too small to matter, can make an entire institution listen, then every student deserves that same chance.
UCL should be a pillar that stands beside us, steady as we move forward and still there to hold us when we fall. No one should ever be left behind or feel invisible. Every voice deserves a seat at the table, and I will keep fighting until that becomes real.
With strong leadership and hands-on charity experience, my background combines initiative with accountability. As founder of my high school’s Intangible Cultural Heritage programme, I led projects preserving culture and building community. By organizing hands-on workshops for younger students and parents, teaching traditional crafts and stories. It was so inspiring to see people of all ages connect through culture — and it showed me the power of community engagement. These experiences taught the importance of teamwork and responsible decision-making skills I’ll bring to the Trustee Board.
Drawing from my experience organizing workshops in my charity program, I’d love to organize social gatherings, sustainability projects, or mini student forums that bring us together outside the classroom. The goal is to help guide the Union responsibly while keeping students at its heart. By applying lessons from managing long-term charity projects, I’ll focus on sustainable growth, fair decisions, and community engagement. Ensuring financial stability and amplifying student voices in strategic discussions are priorities I hope to advance.
Dedicated to fairness and positive impact, my experience in charity leadership shaped a balanced approach to empathy and accountability. In high school, I often worked closely with teachers and administrators to plan events, so I know how effective collaboration can be. Students can count on thoughtful, responsible decisions that strengthen our Union. Together, we can make UCL’s community more inclusive, transparent, and sustainable for everyone.
Tackle student poverty: push to expand hardship funds, cap essentials, keep low-cost meals in SU spaces.
1/5 UK students experience sexual violence at university. I will hold UCL to account: using the Union’s platform to stand behind survivors by pushing for faster support, clearer outcomes.
Stand with students affected by conflict (Ukraine, Palestine): push practical help: hardship access, counselling signposts, academic flexibility.
Make decision-making open: publish updates on decisions and spending. Student Q&A before key meetings.
Influence is limited; effort isn’t. I will fight relentlessly.
Leadership
Head Boy; sat on School Board of Governors; ran major fundraisers. I am ready to scrutinise policy, budgets and risk.
Safeguarding and welfare
Work at a women’s refuge; worked in a refugee camp; co-led a trauma-informed youth mental-health camp.
Delivery at scale
Co-founded Self-Camp UK; ran large charity events (CF Yellow Day, Remembrance); set and tracked budgets, negotiated suppliers; office experience with invoicing and payment records.

You can-
Count on me: weekly drop ins, you asked, I did updates and relentless follow through
Hello! My name is Sam, I have been at UCL since 2019 so I have seen a great many changes in the last six years. I want to be a student trustee because I believe there is much that could be done to improve student experience at UCL.
If elected, I will:
Reduce waste and direct more money into societies.
Hold all officers to account and ensure they are serving their respective communities.
Reduce red tape and SU bureaucracy.
Shine a spotlight on bullying and intimidation within the SU and work to ensure all students feel safe and included in whichever societies or Networks they want to take part in.
I am a mature undergraduate student with a great deal of life experience. I will apply that knowledge to the role of trustee. I will not let SU officials push me around. I know how to stand up for myself, and more importantly, for you.
It has been said many times before but student politics is broken. I can't fix that, but I can promise to ask difficult questions and challenge the SU. I will never blindly vote for a policy. I believe that change for change's own sake is never good; if the SU wants to make changes, I will make them prove they are right – and crucially, that they represent value for money for students before supporting it.
Accountability. Transparency. Sustainability.
- To hold the SU ACCOUNTABLE for their decisions and uphold them to their values
- Ensure TRANSPARENCY in every penny that is spent
- Ensure that the SU urges UCL to accept the Fossil Free Careers Policy
- Make the SU more accessible to students across campus - creating systems so that more students are able to benefit from the SU
- Improving efficiency within the SU and speeding up processes
- Promise to represent all student voices at the decision making level
- As a committee member in various societies and active on campus, I gain diverse perspectives on the SU so I will be able to look at policies from different viewpoints
- Strong interpersonal skills - reduce time taken to finalise decisions
- Integrity, consistency, and commitment to representing student interests fairly
- Co-leader of the Origami Volunteer Project - building my teamwork and collaboration skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills - deliberate on issues and do away with processes that are inefficient
Vote for me if you want someone who will make sure you are heard and who will hold the SU accountable for every decision made and every penny spent. The SU and UCL have long-standing sustainability commitments - I will ensure they stick to them by lobbying for the SU to urge UCL to accept the Fossil Free Careers policy. I'll work towards making the SU more accessible to you and the wider community at UCL - removing inefficient processes and creating systems to improve access.
TLDR:
I'll ensure ACCOUNTABILITY and TRANSPARENCY while advocating for FOSSIL FREE CAREERS to be accepted by UCL.
I hope to achieve a lot as a Student Trustee. Mainly to ensure the Union really listens to students and acts in their best interests, by making decisions that reflect what we need and care about. I want to help keep things transparent, fair and supportive, and make sure the Union is always working towards improving student life in real ways. I also hope to be a voice for those who might not always speak up, and to help build a stronger sense of trust and community between students and the Union. As an engineer, I see the Union as a system to refine for fairness, efficiency, and impact.
I offer an easygoing but confident attitude to this role, and I'm someone who's supportive, approachable, and happy to help. I enjoy connecting with people, helping out when needed, and keeping the atmosphere positive. My years of prior experience as a peer tutor, Best Buddies International programme member, hospital volunteer and class representative give me strong communication, leadership, and teamwork, so I know how to balance responsibility with good vibes and I’ll bring that same energy here! My consistency in prior volunteering also shows that I would be an active and engaged member.
You should vote for me because I have and will be completely transparent about my ideas and decisions, and I’ll always make sure your voices are heard at every level of the Union. I understand how important it is to feel represented and supported, and I’ll personally do my best to ensure that the Union’s actions reflect what students actually need. Finally, my previous experiences taught me how to stay organised, listen actively, and work with others effectively so I’ll bring all that to help make sure the Union stays accountable and student-focused. :)
