Election post

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

No longer stuck in Policy Loop:
Less back-and-forth. More action. Support for clearer drafting, smoother execution. Making change easier, not exhausting.

No Hidden Deals:
Open books, ethical choices. We deserve to know who funds our Union.

No more Green-washing:
No fossil fuels. No greenwashing. Real sustainability, across every activity on the Union.

No more long hauls:
Quicker reimbursements. No more months-long waits to get your society’s tube bill back.

I strive for a Union that is driven by students, doesn't shy away from intersectional conversations and always ready for change.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Over 2 years serving in the Activities Zone for Societies, pushing for efficient funding systems, and sustainable sponsorships.

Experience on funding panels as Societies Officer. I understand how to draft clear, fair, and accessible funding criteria for all societies, arts and non-portfolio alike, ensuring a fair chance for all.

Actively opposed the Shell sponsorship of Union previous year. Sustainability isn't optional & I continue to stand by it.

Experience as a committee member across multiple societies,  I know where student voices get lost in translation - I’ll make sure they’re heard.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Grassroots first. My platform will amplify neglected, minority and intersectional voices.

Good ideas shouldn't be lost in bureaucracy. I always go an extra mile to push for accessible, transparent policies.

Sustainability through collaboration. I am here to push for sustainable practices and foster collaboration across societies to embed them in all SU spaces.

As a committed, hands-on member with years of SU experience, I am here to refine, question, and represent.

Every voice will count. For mine to echo yours - vote Sree for Trustee

Yours truly,
Sree.
