Eliana Woosnam

Hi my name is Eliana and I was this years snowsports Freestyle captain. Being freestyle captain this year has been so so much fun. From running weekly trainings at MK to watching you all absolutely smash it at BUCS events and seeing some insane sends despite a blizzard at valley rally in VT, I literally couldn't be more proud of all of you pushing yourselves and giving freestyle a shot. This year we really killed it with increased participation in competitions (lots of medals!) and larger trainings with 20 per session instead of 10. We also attended more freestyle events like Parkology at Milton Keynes, Jibworx girls archive launch and Dome split contest. If I were to be elected again, the next step would be to really prioritise member progression. This means attending more freestyle jams and events like Bjam and building friendships with British freestyle groups like jibworx. Through specialist coaching and support I really feel we can take our freestylers to the next level. I would also want to continue to push female participation in freestyle, something that UCL snowsports as a club has been super successful with so far. I have some exciting plans for freestyle next year so vote for me pls if you wanna see some super fun things happen. freestyle 4 life <333

Amy Yu

Hi, I’m Amy, a first-year student who’s been hitting the slopes since I was 6. Freestyling this year has certainly become the highlight of my uni life, and I’m so grateful to be part of this incredible, supportive community. Through Snowsports, I’ve met so many amazing people who share the same passion as me, and I want to give back to the club that’s given me so much.

This year, I won 2nd place at Ajam and 3rd place at BUCS, and I’m confident in my skills and experience to bring value to the team. But more than that, I’m passionate about helping others grow, building a stronger community, and making freestyle accessible and fun for everyone. Having grown up in China, Singapore, and the UK, I understand the importance of inclusivity and creating a space where everyone feels welcome. I’m fully committed to this role and can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success.

My Goals:

  • Expand This Girl Can training sessions to once a term, encouraging more girls to try freestyle and helping us achieve a gender-balanced atmosphere.
  • Increase the club’s skis and boards so we can make sure everyone shreds in style.
  • Get more videos at training sessions! Not only will this help us study and improve, but we’ll also share the videos on social media to inspire more people to join the freestyle team.
  • Collaborate with professional coaches for specialised training sessions, so we can all level up our skills with expert advice.

Please vote for me and I promise to bring a fun, exciting year!
