K-pop society to me has always been an avenue for self-expression that transcends borders, language, and culture. K-pop has always been more than just music, it's a force that unifies diverse communities of people who happen to share the same interests and passions. It's about finding comfort through creativity and innovation.

I aspire to cultivate an environment of support and inspiration, where everyone feels valued and heard. I want to help foster a sense of community and security, just like K-pop is for me.

As an events officer, I hope to continue the traditions set by the previous committees while infusing my creativity. You can expect more of the familiar events such as Running Man, and Karaoke nights as well as newer events tailored to society's evolving interests. This could be a themed night celebrating your favourite K-pop memes or Trivia nights to get the competitive spirits kicking in!

Together, I hope to embark on this exciting journey and help shape a vibrant, inclusive community fueled by our shared love for K-pop!

What is better than loads of K-pop events that will fill up your week! It could be anything you could imagine, including RPDs, dance classes, performances, film nights and festive events!!! Just a weird fact about me, I have an obsession on RPDs, its for no reason why but I absolutely love it. And hence, I will nominate myself for this position, I am always keen to organise K-events :)

For me, this is not just about being a committee, I want to utilise all opportunities to gather K-pop lovers, to form a K-pop family where we experience events, creating unforgettable memories, and most importantly, vibe together :)

Hayley Cheung

My desire to take on the role of Events Officer for the K-pop Society stems from a genuine interest in event coordination and a love for K-pop culture. The prospect of organising dance workshops, hosting themed Kpop nights, and providing memorable experiences for society members is quite exciting to me. My experience as a club leader and sports team vice-captain has helped me hone my organisational skills and ability to navigate challenges effectively. From coordinating whole-school presentations to leading team-building activities, I recognise the value of teamwork and collaboration in achieving success. By fostering partnerships and exploring new avenues of engagement, I hope to create meaningful experiences for our members and the larger community.

In terms of skills, I am confident in my ability to communicate effectively, collaborate, and make sound decisions under pressure. My experience has taught me how to communicate with stakeholders, collaborate with other leaders, and ensure that events run smoothly. Whether it's communicating with dance teachers, coordinating with cover leaders, or keeping the committee informed, I'm well-equipped to handle the responsibilities required for this role. In summary, my passion for event coordination, combined with my leadership experience and strong skill set, is why I am running for this role.

Marissa Leong

Hi! I'm a first-year Information Management for Business student from Malaysia and am an active member of the K-pop society - you've probably seen me around especially in the dance classes :P I love Ateez, Enhypen, NCT, &TEAM and ONEUS too! I've really enjoyed the past events organised by the current committee and want to make sure that next year's events will be as good, or even better to give back to this society! (i absolutely love it here ;)) I have some ideas up my sleeve that I'd love to make happen next year and I'm sure you all will enjoy it (telephone dance game, more variety show game nights and dance charades maybe?) <3!

In the past, I used to organise school-wide events associated with the arts and was the head of the arts group (both dance, music and visual) in college, so I think that I'd be great at this role too! I've had experience in dance for about 15-16 years now so expect a lot of dance-related events ;3

Please vote for me! (I'll give everyone snacks if I get it.. huhu)
