Football Club (Women's): Social Secretary

Hi! I'm Isabelle, a first year studying European Social and Political Studies. I’m currently in Team 3 and hope to be one of the social secretaries next year!

As a commuter student, I understand the value of joining a welcoming society for a smooth transition to university life. UCL Football has definitely been essential in settling into university and making incredible friends, though I only started properly playing football last October!

I believe that building team unity involves inclusive social events, from team-specific to club-wide activities. Alongside weekly Sports Night, I'll coordinate diverse socials like watching football matches, karaoke, ice-skating, rock climbing, movie nights, Christmas dinners and more! Additionally, I'll introduce initiatives like a travel-buddy system for training and matches.

With extensive leadership roles in my secondary school’s student support team, including form captain and peer mentor, I bring the expertise needed to contribute effectively to the committee. I not only have strong organisation and leadership skills, but also a genuine passion for the club! Moreover, I’ve attended every social event this year and was part of the creation of a Team 3 Instagram.

As your social secretary, I hope to create a fun and welfare-driven environment within the club, especially for new members. Considering this, I hope I have your vote for UCL WFC Social Secretary for next year!

Hi everyone! My name is Lilia and I'm a first year student studying Earth Sciences. I currently play for the 2s and would love to be one of the social secs next year. And I hope after reading this you'll vote for me :)

I believe that the social aspect of any sports society is essential. With a good social experience being key to provide opportunities to: meet new people, develop friendships, get to know teammates better, and more. As your social secretary I would love to be given the opportunity to plan and run events that encourage this social environment. 

I would prioritise providing a fun, engaging and rounded experience across the socials. Including a variation of themes and events that appeal to a range of audiences (including sober socials). With the addition of some weekly rules and more joint socials with other sports societies. And also plenty of notice to organise your themed outfits and prepare for the night!

Previously, I've had experience planning and running various sports and educational societies in my previous college. With the ability to organise efficiently and being an outgoing person, I believe I'm suited for this position. Having already attended most, if not all of the socials this year (and attended Scala a lot too). I'm happy to commit to being there every Wednesday, and hope to encourage more engagement and increase the number of people who attend socials weekly.
