Dance society has been one of the things that has most contributed to my experience as a fresher and it has truly made my uni experience so much better. I am so grateful to have been a part of this lovely community through the Freshers show, the comps team and now Blooms, so I want to give back and help the committee next year. I would love to be a part of creating a fun environment for all of next years dance soc members.

The responsibilities of the vice president really call out to me. Firstly, I love the committee jackets so I would be so excited to be able to source the next years jackets for all the future freshers to obsess over. I also find organising things oddly therapeutic which I believe will help me do an excellent job with the costume cupboard, I will happily embrace it as my second home and ensure everything is in place. I am also very capable of keeping good track of things because I love making timetables and to-do lists which will help me with all my admin tasks as vice president. Lastly, I was previously president and events manager of the student council of my school, where I gained valuable skills to organise large events and was able to experience what it's like to be part of a committee, I believe this will help me take on this role successfully.

What also appeals to me in this job is that I will get to interact with everyone from dance soc, everyone is so lovely and I would be so excited to be able to work alongside next year's committee. <3

Clara Nouvelle

Hey everyone! I’m Clara and I’m really excited to be running for vice president of Dance soc. I’ve been a member since day one of my first year (how has all this time gone by?!) and I’ve gotten to know the society quite well, dancing and choreographing for triple bill, fresher’s show, class showcases and more… Being part of all these events and involved in shows with musical theatre society as well, I’ve gotten to know the costume cupboard and the way it works, so I think I’ll be suited to manage it and help you all dress cute for your performances next year ; )  I’m also super organised and love writing everything down nice and neatly (control freak who?) so you can count on me to make sure committee meetings are scheduled and written up smoothly, as well as for any other admin responsibilities.

Producing the 24h show is also something I would love to be a part of, it’s such a good event to start off the year and give people a taster of dance soc! I’ve had experience in choreo, lighting and sound over the years so I think I’d do good in a prod team. Overall, I just hope to contribute to making dance soc as welcoming as it was for me when I first came to ucl, and I would love to be a part of a committee with this shared passion for dance : )

Emma Last

I’m Emma and I‘d love to be your VP next year!

As this year’s Scheduling Officer, I co-produced the 24h show, so am confident in producing just as great of a show next year, with knowledge on all of the SU forms required to run a Charity event, as well as the coordination of cast rehearsals. Helping out during all of dance society’s showcases this year has strengthened this experience and made me into a strong problem solver when difficulties arise on show days.

Two years of being involved in every show and competition and one year being on committee has given me extensive knowledge of everything we do in dance soc, so I hope to advise new committee members next year and communicate our many events clearly in class announcements. I’ve also experienced taking Dance Soc committee meeting minutes a few times when our VP was away, so am familiar with how to structure these and use my listening skills to keep track of deep committee discussions!

My aims as your VP:

⁃    Identifying key points from our meeting minutes for monthly instagram and mailer updates. This would make members feel more involved in committee plans and make the actions we take in response to feedback more public.

⁃    Working with the Scheduling Officer to plan rehearsals for the 24h show further in advance to get better rooms

⁃    Organising the committee jackets as soon as possible as this process can take forever!

I would really really appreciate your votes, thank you so
