Candidates

Alara Camoglu

I have been a sociable person that has an interest and knack for organizing ever since I was a child and being in the VP External Relations and Events position will give me a chance to present what I can bring to the Consulting Society by communicating effectively, networking with the right contacts and making our society events successes. I was the first year representative this year for the client projects committee and had a great experience with the society. My job mainly consisted of finding the right mentors and communicating with them which has brought a great number of mentors for our mentorship division. I would be very elated to enhance my skillset further and contribute to the Consulting Society.

Emma Zhang

Hello! My name is Emma Zhang and I am a 3rd year student studying maths.

Having been to Case Workshops this year, I developed a deep passion for the events held by UCL Consulting Society. For example, I recently attended Share The Vision Conference and this solidified my decision that I would like to be a part of the committee and contribute to the running of UCL Consulting Society.

During the current year, I am conducting a client project in UCL Consulting Society with a team of 5 other people for a health and tech company; during the period, the project was successfully presented to our client. This experience allowed me to develop my own interpersonal skills and taught me how valuable it is for me to be part of a team. During my summer internship, I communicated effectively to successfully plan and support the running of 100 people company meetings which I am convinced will make me a good fit for the role of VP external relations and events.

Hannah Behrning

Hi Everyone,

I would love the chance and opportunity to be your External Relations & Events Vice President of the Consulting Society this year. Having been part of the Consulting Society this year and heavily engaging with all different kinds of events including many case competitions, case study workshops and other events would make it an honour to take on this role to use my experience to develop and push the society in this area.

As your External Relations & Events VP, I want to make sure our events are fun while being informational and helpful to you. I would want to use my network and experience to reach out to top Consulting firms to organise and host events to provide you with the best possible Consulting opportunities. To develop and grow this branch of the Consulting Society I want to highlight the importance of growing one’s network through offering Networking Drinks and organising events with firms at their offices if possible. Ultimately, I want to build on the achievements from the past through by developing and offering key events such as our case study competitions.

My experience with the society this year would allow me to use my experience at case study competitions and networking events to improve the events and build and develop them further to provide members with the most valuable experience. I aim to work closely with you and the committee to discuss potential future ideas to maximise the opportunities we can provide you with.

Noa Seror

Being an outgoing and motivated person with a taste for leadership, I am suitable for this position. I am a former Marketing & Business Development Assistant, UCL M&A Events Executive, and Co-chief of my school's ecological transition. As an autonomous person, I can make my own decisions while confronting people's opinions to find the best option. If I were selected, the alumni network, forums, and more interactive platforms (Instagram live Q&As with speakers) would be developed, and I would cooperate with other societies. Every member would have a voice and be able to participate!

Ananya Toshniwal

Hello everyone! To introduce myself, I’m Ananya and am currently in my penultimate year of the BSc Management Science course. I am running for the VP of External Relations and Events role as it is a perfect integration of my interest in event planning and consulting.

My past experiences of working as a student consultant with Minviro (an environmental engineering firm) and a London-based orchestra confirmed my interest in consulting and helped me expand my field-specific knowledge. Furthermore, I thoroughly enjoy working behind the scenes to make events possible. I believe that I have picked up some expertise running back-end operations through my prior roles as the UCL TEDx Event Manager and the city lead of a NPO, Chattr Chhaya (to support low-wage earning labourers). These experiences helped me hone my communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills that are directly transferable to the Events and External Relations role.

For these reasons, I believe that I’d make a good candidate and if you think so too, do vote for me! I wish all candidates the best of luck :)

Andrea W Y Lee

I was a first year representative in the external relations division and have helped out on case workshops held by our executives and helped organised our society's networking social event. Through active participation, I understood how this division works and what can be improved on.

My plans as VP of External Relations & Events:

1) Aim for more in person events (1 or 2 per month). Events of interest: case studies from consultants, application workshops from different companies (for spring weeks/summer internships/grad roles), alumni career talks(how they got into consulting and what they do now). These are highly desired events as reflected from the feedback of our members.

2) Hold an annual flagship event or forum(during easter or summer) with a specific theme for example, “ESG in consulting/tech”. It would be a 1 day event with multiple interactive panel discussions, a consulting case study by MBB or Big 4 companies where competition will be judged by the company and winners get free mentorship from consultants.

3) Work with head of sponsorship during summer to secure sponsors both for general sponsorship and sponsorship for large scale events (flagship event/case competitions).

4) Aim to increase collaboration and engagement within the division and with other divisions.

Ananya Khurana

The Consulting Society epitomises the qualities that resonate with me the most: networking, innovation and teamwork. The most important skill a committee member and VP of External Relations and Events in specific must possess is the skill of intricate communication. In my capacities as Head-Girl of a 15,000 student-strong school, Secretary-General of one of the largest MUNs in the Middle East, and an intern at EY, I have been exposed to the delicate world of communication and presentation. Thus I have learned the art of working with a dynamic group of people, team-building and resolution; all of which are key abilities to being a synergetic member of the committee. Having served as an FYR in the External Relations division at the Economist’s Society has allowed me to refine the aforementioned qualities, making me fit for the role of VP of External Relations and Events. My vision for the society, in the scope of my role, is to implement a reasonable number of initiatives, without affecting the running of current events in any form. Greater inter-year mixing, socials and networking with sponsors, alumni and further-study students, and the further implementation of women/diversity targeted events would allow the society to expand its community and outreach. These initiatives sound intriguing in print, but I understand, through experience, the significance of following through and implementing these innovative ideas.
