Elze Valiunaite

I am Elze, a Management Science student, and I am standing for Events Officer because I would genuinely love to help build a close and welcoming Lithuanian community at UCL. Moving to a new country and starting university can feel overwhelming at times, and I think it is important that Lithuanian students have a space where they feel comfortable, connected, and supported.

As someone who is Lithuanian myself, I understand how meaningful it is to meet people with similar backgrounds, traditions, and experiences while studying abroad. I would love to help create events that bring people together, strengthen friendships and make the Society feel like a community where everyone feels included.

I am organised, approachable and enjoy bringing people together. I have developed strong organisational and teamwork skills through both my academic and extracurricular experiences. As a Marketing Executive at EFS and Course Representative for Management Science, I learned how to communicate effectively, and manage responsibilities in fast-paced environments. Through coordinating events in competitive dancesport and working closely within teams, I have also learned how important good organisation, communication, and atmosphere are in making events successful and enjoyable for everyone involved.

As Events Officer, I would focus on organising fun, engaging, and well-planned events that help people connect, feel included, and enjoy being part of the Lithuanian Society throughout the year.

Urte Elena Etneryte

Participating in the events organised by the society in the past year has allowed me to meet many wonderful people, and have a lot of fun doing so. The environment created was really welcoming, which is something I’d like to help bring about next year.

I also understand the power of social media in making sure the events are as successful as possible. A lot of the time an engaged and lively crowd lends in a large part to how an event goes. I believe half of the job in planning a successful event is reaching this target audience and persuading them to participate, which is something I believe I would be able to assist in.
