Participating in the events organised by the society in the past year has allowed me to meet many wonderful people, and have a lot of fun doing so. The environment created was really welcoming, which is something I’d like to help bring about next year.

I also understand the power of social media in making sure the events are as successful as possible. A lot of the time an engaged and lively crowd lends in a large part to how an event goes. I believe half of the job in planning a successful event is reaching this target audience and persuading them to participate, which is something I believe I would be able to assist in.

My qualifications:

  • Volunteering (2+ years) - I ran my own volunteering club in Sixth Form and volunteered at a children’s centre

  • Art school + art clubs (5+ years) - I went to an extracurricular art school in Lithuania and I later joined the college art club during Sixth Form

    • Visual literacy
    • Creative problem solving

My ideas:

  • Continue expanding on the current roster of activities (with some potential ideas below)
    • Dinner at Bernelių Užeiga
    • Watching basketball at the pub
    • Arts and crafts social
  • Upkeep the strong visual identity and social media presence created by past committees
