The field of biotechnology is a new and inspiring area of research, it promises to usher in a paradigm shift in the way that society approaches biology and the limitations of humanity. From genetically modified babies to bringing back the woolly mammoth, biotechnology will converge fields from across the scientific discipline: engineers, physicists, synthetic biologists, and mathematicians will all have a hand to play in the emerging biotechnological revolution.
As such, the role of the Biotechnology Society should be to facilitate the next generation of scientists working in biotechnology. We hope that through social events and talks our members will gain an appreciation and fascination for the field. In short, we plan to build a society of individuals who are fascinated by the nature life and how to uncover its secretes to solve the multitude of problems, which face and shall face humanity.
