What did you value most in staff in 2024?

Last year we produced a report to highlight the most valued practices in each of the nine award categories. These included:

Proactive and responsive approaches to feedback, where staff actively involved students in decision-making processes by seeking and acting on their input.

Teaching that was engaging and innovative, where staff actively engaged you in their learning by creating interactive sessions and providing additional support outside of regular class hours.

You valued staff that went the extra mile, who were consistently available and who often went above and beyond their immediate roles to ensure you received the help you needed.

Personalised mentorship and support was valued by you, particularly with staff members who offered one-to-one guidance, resources, and mentorship opportunities tailored to individual needs and interests.

Staff who were dedicated to culture change outside of the classroom, who demonstrated their commitment to diversity and inclusion outside of the classroom by organising events and leading initiatives.

You appreciated staff who practiced empathy and understanding when supporting you difficult circumstances, demonstrating a commitment to student wellbeing.

There was lots more that you appreciated about UCL staff in 2024 - find the whole report here.

If any of the above qualities apply to a member of staff you know, put them forward now for the 2025 Student Choice Awards.
