Join Us for a Welcome Crafternoon

Join us for a relaxed and creative Crafternoon during Welcome and the Volunteering Fair!

In this session, you’ll create handmade A5 cards featuring artwork, creative designs and positive messages. The cards will be shared with young refugees and asylum seekers supported by Hope for the Young, helping to create moments of connection, encouragement and positivity.

No artistic experience is needed. Whether you enjoy drawing, writing, designing or simply want to try something creative, all materials and guidance will be provided.

🎨 What You’ll Be Creating

You’ll have the opportunity to create handmade A5 cards using a range of art materials.

Your cards could include:

• 🎨 Colourful artwork and illustrations
• 💌 Positive and encouraging messages
• 🌟 Creative designs and decorations
• ✍️ Short notes to brighten someone's day

Each card will be given to a young person supported by Hope for the Young, giving your creativity a meaningful purpose beyond the session.

💚 About Hope for the Young

Hope for the Young is a charity that supports young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK to overcome barriers to education and wellbeing.

Since 2008, they have worked alongside young people to help them settle into their communities, access education and achieve their goals. Their work includes one-to-one mentoring, financial support and advocacy, providing tailored support based on each young person's needs and aspirations.

During the Crafternoon, a representative from Hope for the Young will introduce the organisation, talk about the young people they support and explain how the cards you create will be used.

• 🤝 Meet Other Students: Work alongside fellow students in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

• 🙌 Discover More Volunteering: Find out about other ways you can get involved with Hope for the Young and support young refugees and asylum seekers.

No previous crafting experience is needed, just bring yourself and your creativity!
