Are you interested in making UCL more sustainable? Come join us at the Sustainability Council’s first meeting of the year!
The Sustainability Council (SusCo) exists to foster collaboration and environmental action across our student community. It provides a democratic space where students can raise and discuss environmental issues through monthly Council meetings and weekly task force meetings. We also run regular socials where you can meet people who share an interest in sustainability and the environment.
We have five task forces working to make the Students’ Union, UCL and the wider world more sustainable:
- The Banking Task Force is leading a student-led campaign to raise awareness of how high-street banks fund the fossil fuel industry.
- The Political Task Force is working to connect sustainability councils and student groups across UK universities, building a united student voice on environmental issues.
- The Education Task Force aims to integrate teaching about climate change and sustainability into the heart of courses across UCL.
- The Waste Reduction & Circularity Task Force aims to reduce the amount of waste produced at UCL and develop new circular initiatives across campus.
- The Communications & Outreach Task Force plans and runs outreach and media campaigns to reach new audiences and increase the visibility of the Sustainability Council.
Come along to meet your Sustainability Officers, get an introduction to SusCo and our five task forces, and find out how you can get involved and make a difference.
Oh, and there’ll be free food!
