AgeUK Westminster

New analysis by Age UK has found that 198,000 older people in London can go for a month without meeting up with a friend. This charity empowers older people to understand their rights and lead more fulfilling and socially active lives.

Age UK Westminster is a local charity working with and for older people. They aim to promote the well-being of older people in the City of Westminster and help make life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience within the local community.

They offer a wide range of services and activities, and provide interesting opportunities for people of all ages to get involved as volunteers. From Befriending, to being a friendly voice on the Information and Advice telephone helpline, there are lots of ways to get involved, both remotely and in person.

Little Village

Little Village makes a big difference to families with babies and young children living in poverty across London. Via their network of baby banks they pass on loved goods from one family to another – clothes, toys and equipment – so that many more babies and young children have the essential things they need to thrive.

Families either visit a Little Village hub, or items are packed with care and delivered to their home. But it doesn’t stop there. They also connect families into a wider network of support, helping them to build and extend their own ‘village’. And they raise their voices for change; sharing the stark realities of too many children’s lives in London.

Thanks to the generous donations of loved items, precious time and money, since we launched in 2016, Little Village has supported more than 32,000 children.

And while you're in the Student Centre, why not pop into our Crafternoon making Valentine's Cards for Older People
