Join us for Octobers Crafternoon to make bookmarks for young people

Our very popular crafternoon event returns! Last year, we created cultural bookmarks for a children's reading charity called Doorstep Library and we asked UCL students to create a bookmark based on their culture. We want to celebrate the diversity in UCL as well as providing value for children. Please join us in this drop in session where you can come to the student centre and design a variety of different bookmarks and no, you do not have to be good at art. What you're doing is creating bookmarks but what you're actually doing is volunteering! Provide some of your time to make someone learn something new and feel good!

Last Year's Impact

We especially encourage international students to incorporate something unique from their culture such as traditional patterns, greetings in your native language, or fun facts about your country. It’s a great way to express your creativity, meet fellow students, and share a piece of your heritage while giving back to the community

Please Note: This is a drop in session and you do not have to come for the whole time.

What can I expect from these events?

  •  Meet Like-Minded People: Connect with other students in a relaxed, welcoming space.
  • 🎨 Feel-Good Vibes: Unwind and express yourself through hands-on crafting activities.
  • 📚 Bookmark-Making Supplies: We’ll provide everything you need to create colourful bookmarks, with a special invitation to include something from your culture like traditional designs, greetings, or fun facts to share with local schoolchildren.
  • Travel Expenses Reimbursed

Come along, bring your friends, and let’s make this Crafternoon one to remember!
