Join us for a cozy evening of film, food, and culture as part of International Festival. We’re screening The Namesake, paired with a delicious vegetarian curry dinner catered by the brilliant social enterprise Tiffin Walli.

Come hungry and curious. Before settling in for the film, enjoy a freshly prepared meal from Tiffin Walli, a social enterprise that supports women into meaningful, stable employment through preparing delicious food. It’s comfort food with a purpose.

You will have the pleasure of enjoying the following menu:

  • Vegetable Samosas
  • Matar Paneer (Paneer and green peas curry in creamy sauce)
  • Achari Begun Aloo (Aubergine and Potato curry)
  • All paired with rice

Then, sit back for a cinema-style screening of The Namesake, a moving and thoughtful film about two immigrant parents from India navigating life in America, and their son as he grows up caught between cultures, identities, and expectations. It’s a powerful exploration of belonging, family, and what it means to find your place between two worlds.

This event is proudly part of Student Union UCL’s International Festival, showcasing and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of UCL’s students and staff, and has been coordinated with the POC Student Officer, International Students Officer, and the Union’s Social Impact Team and Intercultural Engagement Team.

Where: Room LG04, Bedford Way
When: Wednesday 25th February, 5pm–8pm

Whether you’re here for the film, the food, or the chance to connect with others, this is a relaxed and welcoming space to eat well, watch together, and celebrate culture.
