What is it?
Ever thought “I could totally run an event”, but weren’t sure where to start? Or maybe you've run plenty but want to continue honing your skills? This interactive masterclass throws you straight into the action. You’ll step into the shoes of an event planner and work with other students to turn a real event brief into a fun, realistic plan. It’s hands-on, collaborative, and all about building skills you can actually use, whether that’s for your society, your course, or your future career.
What will you actually be doing?
You’ll be given an event brief, team up with other students to produce an event plan from scratch. Think budgeting, scheduling, venues, promotion, and making sure everything actually runs smoothly on the day. You’ll tackle real challenges, make decisions together, and finish by pitching your event idea as a team. No awkward lectures, no note-taking marathons, just getting stuck in and learning by doing.
What’s in it for you?
By the end of the session, you’ll have a solid understanding of how events come together from start to finish. You’ll feel more confident sharing ideas, working in a team, and solving problems on the fly.
