Have you ever wondered where your community‑engaged dissertation might lead you once it’s finished? We certainly have and we’re excited to try something new here at the Community Research Initiative, following your suggestions!
For the very first time, we’re inviting some of our lovely CRIS alumni back to share what happened after their dissertations. Together, we'll explore how our alums used their CRIS experience to help land meaningful, impactful roles in the charity and community sector.
This session is all about honest conversations and real‑life examples. You’ll get the chance to meet former CRIS students and ask them anything you’d like, such as :
- how they talked about their community‑engaged dissertation on CVs and cover letters
- how they marshalled their experiences at interviews
- how they explained the value of their CRIS work to employers.
Our CRIS Supercharger is designed to be friendly, supportive, and low‑pressure space to bring all your career questions, curiosities, and “what happens next?!” thoughts. We know this stage can feel a bit overwhelming, so the aim is to demystify the process and leave you feeling inspired by some brilliant CRIS superstars who’ve already been there over some social enterprise snacks.
And just as importantly, this is a chance to connect across different CRIS cohorts: to chat, share experiences, and start building those connections. You never know where a conversation might lead ✨
Please note, this event is especially for students writing their dissertation with the Community Research Initiative. Intrigued and want to find out more about what we do? Then head over to our website or email us at [email protected].
