Whether you’re working in a group project, leading a society activity or collaborating in a professional setting, one skill makes all the difference: being able to communicate clearly with people who think, learn and respond differently from you.

In this practical, hands‑on workshop, you’ll explore how to adapt your communication style by trying out small leadership tasks in groups. Each person will guide their group through a simple activity - but with a twist. You might have to communicate using only verbal instructions, only physical demonstration, or only written guidance. As you experiment, you’ll see how different people understand information in different ways, and how small adjustments can make communication more inclusive and effective.

You’ll also practise adapting tasks for different ability levels, reflecting on how to make instructions clearer, more accessible and more engaging. It’s a playful, low‑pressure way to build confidence in leading others, understanding learning styles and communicating across diverse groups.
