UCL Polo Club taster sessions at Silver Leys Polo Club, Hertfordshire.
No riding or polo experience required. Sessions are taught from scratch, covering both riding and hitting, and beginners who join the club this term compete in tournaments from day one.
Each session begins on the ground, where you will learn the basics of hitting a polo ball using foot mallets and a wooden horse. The second half moves onto horseback, where you will put what you have learnt into practice before finishing with a game.
Getting there: train from Tottenham Hale or Liverpool Street to Bishops Stortford, then a short taxi to Silver Leys. The taxi fare is minimal when shared.
No specialist kit or equipment required. We would suggest wearing jeans or leggings and hard-soled shoes with a small heel. Please note that trainers cannot be worn on horseback."
