Never been to the British Museum before, or already a regular visitor?
The UCL World History Society is giving you the perfect excuse to come along!
Join us for a relaxed group visit to the British Museum’s Roman galleries, where we’ll explore objects, stories, and everyday life from the ancient Roman world together. Whether you study history, know absolutely nothing about Rome, or are simply curious, people from all academic and knowledge backgrounds are very welcome.
This is intended to be an informal, social visit rather than a guided lecture. The session will be entirely peer-led, so there are no prerequisites and no prior knowledge is needed — just bring your curiosity and enjoy discovering the collection with other students. We’ll begin with the Roman galleries and, if time allows, may continue into sections covering early British history and the wider Roman world.
It’s a great chance to meet other people interested in history, explore one of London’s most famous museums, and chat about the objects and stories that catch your attention along the way.
You will need a free Taster membership of World History Society to join us. We’re looking forward to seeing you there and taking a journey into ancient history together!
