The Active Bystander Programme is a core part of your induction and student experience at UCL. It empowers students to recognise and safely challenge bullying, harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct, helping to build a safer, more respectful and inclusive UCL community.
By completing the training, you’ll:
- Learn how to safely step in when you see problematic behaviour.
- Gain tools to enhance empathy and inclusivity.
- Connect with resources to support you and others.
- Earn a certificate to recognise your training.
This training is a core part of your induction for all new UCL students, in line with national requirements to tackle harassment and misconduct in higher education. This workshop is for students who could not attend their department's workshop, or whose department has not arranged a workshop.
The programme consists of:
- A online module, (30-40mins) which must be completed before the workshop.
- A live workshop (90 mins) led by our trained student Workshop Leaders.
