DMS Journal Club: Session 2 π
We're excited to continue the DMS Journal Club on Monday 26 October, 18:00-19:00 in W2.06, IOE, 20 Bedford Way!
For our second session, we'll be discussing OPTIMA prelim: a randomised feasibility study of personalised care in the treatment of women with early breast cancer. This landmark study explores how personalised medicine can be used to guide treatment decisions in early breast cancer, tailoring care to individual patients and potentially reducing unnecessary chemotherapy while maintaining effective outcomes. Together, we'll examine the study's design, findings, and wider implications for the future of precision medicine and patient-centred care. ποΈπ¬
The session will be led by Eleanor Charman, a Year 2 Applied Medical Sciences student, who will guide us through the paper and facilitate discussion. This is a great opportunity to develop your critical appraisal skills, engage with current medical research, and hear different perspectives from fellow students. π£οΈπ
