Description

The Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School team are looking for friendly, personable people to help with our upcoming Hackney Empire Show on Saturday, March 14th 2026.

You will be assisting with our professional children's show at the Hackney Empire. This is our 25th anniversary, so is a really special occasion and a opportunity that shouldn't be missed! This role will require helping backstage, chaperoning children, ensuring all routines and costumes are good to go and providing general support for the show.

Duties

We currently need several volunteers to join us on show day to assist with the following:

  • Supervising an assigned dressing room (with one to two other assigned adults. You won't be alone in this task.)
  • Assisting teachers with any task that may occur on the day
  • Show runner (Helping collect the students for their next on stage number.)
  • Assist with costume and props
Training
In exchange for volunteering at the school, we can offer:

• References for employment and further education
• Payment of any travel expenses (zones 1 - 6 only)
• Encouragement and response to any suggestions you have for the running of the school
• Opportunities for further volunteering experiences

Time commitment

This is a one-off opportunity on Saturday the 14th of March 2026 between the hours of 9am to 9pm.

We will need volunteers on site to assist during rehearsal and then during the Show itself. Ideally, this would mean you would be available from the morning through the entire Show in the evening. However, we can accommodate if you are unable to help for the whole day.
Application deadline

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working to keep you safe and supported whilst you volunteer.
