Sports Leadership & Volunteering Fund

TeamUCL can offer you support and funding for coaching, officiating or sports-specific training. Successful applicants will receive funding of up to 75% (up to £300) of the cost of the training, event or qualification. In some cases there will be an opportunity to receive 100% funding for officiating courses.

Examples of successful applications:

  • Coaching and officiating qualifications
  • Sports-specific training courses
  • Travel expenses for approved volunteering opportunities

Those awarded any funds are expected to contribute their skills and qualifications back into the TeamUCL community - this can be back in a club, within the Social Leagues or with Project Active.

Rewards

We value your contribution and whilst some of the pathways can result in paid work, you'll also be rewarded for volunteering. You can log your hours and be awarded at the following milestones:

  • 10 hours - TeamUCL Playmakers T-shirt
  • 25 hours - TeamUCL Chilly's water bottle
  • 50 hours - Free entry into a mass-participation event (Campus Run, Charity Swimathon, Halloween Fun Run) or 1-month pass to TeamUCL Gym
  • 100 hours - TeamUCL kit bag
How to log hours

If you're volunteering within the Students' Union, you'll be able to log hours against any roles you've been assigned (e.g. activator, event volunteer) through your user homepage.

If you / your club are currently involved in any external sports volunteering, let us know here! We can then add you to our system and you can begin logging hours and receiving rewards.
