Submit an idea for a new Community Outreach Project
We support UCL students to develop and run community outreach projects. We support individual students, clubs, societies and student groups unaffiliated with the Students' Union to develop their projects.

We support not-for-profit organisations and statutory agencies to recruit UCL students as volunteers. The majority of our community partners have opportunities based in Central London within an hour's commute from our Bloomsbury campus.

Hosted for the first time ever at UCL East, 11,000 students came together at UCL for Welcome Fair, the headline event of Welcome, to enjoy a day packed with fun, freebies, and endless opportunities.

UCL Student Tara reflects on her journey from Impartial Chair to podcast host. Launched in 2023, the Impartial Chairs programme is a sector leading skills development programme run by Students’ Union UCL to create resilient and reflective student leaders.
Phineas, part of student life at UCL since 1900
Phineas is a painted wooden statue of a Scottish highlander and the trade mark of the Gallagher and Jamieson Tobacco Company. Phineas statues were widely used to attract customers into tobacconists’ shops, with this Phineas originally adorning a tobacconist’s shop on Tottenham Court Road.
