Library and Study Space
"Restricted post-graduate student access to the Medical School hub at the Royal Free (LG) is an ongoing issue. This was sent to a Faculty level which carried out a review of all teaching space at the Royal Free. A decision was made to give students access to the Jerry Kirk seminar room which now has key code access so they can use outside of teaching hours.
Teaching Method and Delivery
 “Some students on one module received less seminar hours than others, due to the professor not being available, which they felt was unfair. I raised this and ended up getting an appropriate substitute for those missing days.”– Brains Sciences Rep
Timetabling
 “One of our modules was taught by two different lecturers, as one of them had a clash with another module. This led to a lack of coherence in the teaching. We raised this issue at the SSCC and made sure that it will not happen again next year.”– Electronic and Electrical Engineering rep

Learning Resources
 “Something I was particularly proud of achieving was creating pharmacology revision podcasts along with a group of other students to provide better resources for a module that had been reported as being poorly resourced.

“Some exam questions were written in a confusing manner and had to be removed. We had a lengthy feedback session with the faculty after the written exams to discuss our concerns. To ensure we made good use of our time, we communicated with the student cohort in advance to collate their feedback and also how we can summarise them effectively for the meeting.

Trans Officer
Your RoleLead the Union’s LGBT+ Network alongside the LGBQ+ Officer in continuing to build an engaging, dynamic, and rewarding community of LGBT+ students and make sure that the Network caters to and is inclusive of all its members. Represent the collective interests and needs of Trans students to decision-making bodies within the Union. Working alongside and supported by the Equity Officer, represent these collective interests to UCL and beyond.Issues You May Work OnAs a Student Officer, you will work closely with students and Sabbatical Officers. Issues may vary depending on student concern. However, previous Officers have worked on issues such as: Developing a community of Trans Students within the Union by developing events and creating opportunities for your peers and co-convening the LGBT+ Student Network. Working with the Sabbatical team to campaign for UCL to become a safer space for Trans people through the introduction of gender neutral toilet facilities. Representing the voice of Trans students in Students’ Union decision making and nationally at the NUS Trans Students' Conference.Meetings You Will Attend Hold voting rights in all three Policy Zones (Education Zone, Welfare and Community Zone, Activities Zone) Union Executive – Eight meetings throughout the yearYour EligibilityAny continuing UCL student who self-defines as trans.Time Required For RoleThis is a part-time, unpaid position. You are expected to attend Welfare and Community Zone meetings and a range of additional events, approx. 20 hours per term. Arts Officer
Your RoleLead in developing and building a strong community of arts societies. Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer, oversee all arts societies in the Union and develop opportunities for students to pursue a rich range of artistic interests at UCL.

Your RoleYou will be a full time Sabbatical Officer of the Students’ Union working full time to provide leadership to the Students’ Union’s services; and representing the interests of students to UCL, including particiapting in UCL committees and regular meetings with senior staff.
