Student Officer of the Month
Yalin Chen & Jingyi Ye
The second Student Officer of the Month is Yalin and Jingyi your Volunteering Officers. As the Volunteering Officers, Yalin and Jingyi are here to support the Students' Union's volunteering service and encourage students to get involved.
Since being elected in the Leadership Race in March 2023, one of their main focuses has been on fostering a sense of community amongst UCL volunteers. Over the last few months that have successfully organised a series of engaging social and networking events that have enabled volunteers to connect. They have also attended events such as Welcome Fair and the Volunteering Fair which has led to strong working relationships with students and charity organisations to be developed. Their ultimate goal is to encourage more students to participate in volunteering and making it a rewarding and enriching experience at UCL.

They are an absolute joy to work with! Jingyi and Yalin are always enthusiastic and willing to get involved in the different activities and events the Volunteering Service offers. I invited them to host our Leadership in Volunteering Networking Lunch, where they spoke about our student-led volunteering programme offer and facilitated a creative poster activity - they were very engaging and spoke about our programme with so much passion. I really appreciate their hard work and look forward to working with them on future projects!
