Join Us in supporting an Older People’s Christmas Lunch in Stratford Town Hall
This festive event supports isolated older residents in our community by creating a warm and welcoming space to celebrate together. The lunches bring people together for great food, conversation, and companionship, spreading joy and connection during the holiday season.
What’s a Big Help Out?
Big Help Outs are fun, one-off volunteering opportunities that bring together big groups of volunteers. It’s all about small actions creating big change when we work together. At our events, you’ll always find friendly student and staff faces to make sure you feel welcome and supported.
Why Join In?
Your support will help combat loneliness and bring festive cheer to older residents who might otherwise spend the holidays alone.
To support your involvement, travel expenses will be reimbursed, and if you volunteer for more than six hours, lunch will be provided.
📍 Meet-Up Point
To make it easier to get involved, you can travel to the event with a member of our team. This is a great way to meet fellow volunteers, make new friends, and arrive together.
Meet Point: UCL East, Marshgate Café Ground Floor at 8:30am
Please note: We will leave the meet point at 8:40 am, so please arrive on time. If you prefer, you can meet us directly at Stratford Town Hall, 29 The Broadway, London E15 4BQ

👥 What to Expect
- Welcome guests and help them find their seats.
- Sit with residents, engage in conversation, and assist with forms.
- Serve (and enjoy!) a festive meal alongside the guests.
You’ll play a vital role in creating a joyful and heart-warming experience for our older community members this Christmas.
