Festive Fridays at Maltby Street Market transform Bermondsey’s Ropewalk into a seasonal night market filled with food, drink, and Christmas cheer.
On Friday evenings in the run-up to Christmas, the cobbled streets beneath the railway arches are decorated with trees, wreaths, and fairy lights, creating a cosy winter atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy street food traders serving festive specials, sip on mulled wine, and browse stalls for gifts and artisan treats. The evenings also feature live choirs and entertainment, making it a lively way to kick off the weekend and soak up the holiday spirit.
Speedfriending
Before heading to the Market join us for a speedfriending session in Phineas. This is a great chance to mix with everyone else coming along for the journey and make friends with lots of new people!
You will spend a few minutes getting to know each other before rotating around, meeting lots of new people in the group. It operates just like speed dating except instead you’re speedfriending!
Once everyone is ready we’ll head over to the Market together.
Timings
The speedfriending will start at 16:00 and your guide will take you over to the lights at 17:00
