Description

We’re currently recruiting LGBTQ+ Group Facilitators to join our amazing and dynamic volunteer team at elop!

elop is an award-winning LGBTQ+ Mental Health and Wellbeing Charity with 26 years’ experience of supporting LGBTQ+ communities across London and surrounding areas.

Joining our LGBTQ+ Group Facilitators team, you will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team who  will support others to  socialise & network, supporting LGBTQ+ people to come together in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment with opportunities to meet new people, form new friendships, gain peer support and much more. 

Each of elop’s dedicated groups or meet-ups run planned activities that supports shared interaction, positive identities and a feeling of being valued.  

Duties

As a group co-facilitator you will support the elop staff member with planning and delivering activities such as games, crafts, and trips, facilitating group discussions around various topics pertaining to mental health, wellbeing, or the general LGBTQ+ experience, and  ensuring a welcoming, supported, safe and comfortable environment for all.

Respecting diversity, understanding and upholding professional boundaries and confidentiality are fundamental to all of our work and you will be required to support this. 

Who will the volunteers be working with?
The volunteers will be working alongside the elop staff member who runs the group. the number of service users who attend will vary weekly as they are mostly drop in services.
Training
Volunteers will be guided by the staff member on how best to deliver group activities, and any relevant training will be given by the volunteer coordinator

Time commitment

We know life can be busy, but we ask all group volunteers to make a 6 month minimum commitment or around 2-3 hours a week average.

Our activities are delivered on various days and times across the week and weekends, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

We don't currently have centre so our services are delivered in different locations across east London.
