History Beyond the Classroom
World History Society is a community for anyone curious about the past - whatever you study and however much history you know.
We explore history through museum visits, walking tours, talks, socials and our student magazine.
What Makes Us Different?
Looking for a different kind of history experience?
We are relaxed, accessible and interest-led. No history background needed - just curiousity. We explore history across the world and across time, from prehistory and ancient societies to the modern day.
What We Do
Explore London & beyond
Museum visits, exhibitions, historical walks and occasional trips outside London. Rather than just reading about the past, we go and see where it happened.
Talks & discussions
Meet academics, writers and other speakers, hear about their work, and stay afterwards for questions and conversation.
Socials & community
Relaxed events for people who simply enjoy talking about history - no seminar preparation required.
Write with us
Contribute to our student magazine, whether you want to write a researched piece, commentary, review or something more experimental.
Our Magazine
In 2024, World History Society collaborated with UCL Diplomacy Society to produce a joint magazine.
This year, we want to do something of our own.
We are bringing the magazine back as a World History Society project - shaped by your interests, your words, and the stories you want to tell. Whether you want to write, edit, design, illustrate, or simply help us come up with ideas, we would love to have you involved.
No publishing experience needed. Just bring your curiosity.
Help us create the next issue!
