The primary aim of the SRI Society is to extend the study of social sciences beyond the classroom and into the real world.

SRI Society is the student community of UCL’s Social Research Institute, bringing together people interested in society, people and the world around us.

We’re here to make your university experience bigger than just lectures and deadlines. Whether you want to meet new people, explore career opportunities, connect with academics, discover exciting research or simply feel more involved at SRI, there’s a place for you here.

Our aims are to:

🤝 Build a real SRI community: connecting students across courses and year groups through socials, activities and shared experiences.

💡 Bring social research to life: making big questions about society engaging and accessible through discussions, debates, research events and conversations with academics.

🚀 Help you think beyond your degree: creating opportunities to explore careers, meet professionals and alumni, develop skills and discover where an SRI degree can take you.

🎓 Connect students and academics: breaking down the barrier between the classroom and the wider SRI community through our Research Series and collaborative events.

🫶 Make SRI feel like somewhere you belong: creating an inclusive, welcoming space where you can meet people, share ideas and actually enjoy being part of the Institute.

Come for the opportunities, the people, the conversations: or just the vibes. Stay because SRI feels like your community.

We're open to everyone, so come join!
