Are you a performer, director, designer, producer, academic - or do you just really like Shakespeare? Then you should absolutely join Shakespeare society!

Newly recreated in 2022, our company aims to celebrate the works of William Shakespeare, and especially to elevate diverse and unique reinterpretations of his plays. Everyone is welcome, with lots of opportunities in the coming year to get involved or just quietly enjoy some Shakespeare.

Come join one of our many events, such as:

  • Discussion forums and play readings for anyone to teach and learn about Shakespearean interpretation
  • Workshops led by outside speakers and experienced UCL students exploring how to approach Shakespeare as a theatre-maker
  • Socials, like pub trips, film screenings or playwatches at London theatres at discounted prices (!)

Or how about watching or even getting involved with one of our very own shows? Look out for:

  • Our annual Shakespeare festival, where you can try acting, directing or producing for the first time
  • Our regular term shows, where you can get involved with creating a full length Shakespeare production.
  • This year we have our very own Bloomsbury Theatre production - Richard II - January 29th - 31st 2026

We look forward to seeing you around!
