We are the departmental society of the Psychology and Human Development department and are open to all UCL students with a passion for delving deeper into the realms of psychology and education, or those simply seeking a welcoming society offering ample opportunities to socialise! Our primary aim is to foster closer ties within the Department of Psychology and Human Development, encourage all UCL students to actively engage with the fields of psychology and education while facilitating avenues for academic and career growth. 

This year, we have an exciting array of events lined up: 

Social: 

  • Welcome Week:  
    • Kickstart your UCL journey with us by visiting us at our Society Stands in the IOE (Mon-Thurs) and on the UCL campus for the main Welcome Fair (Sat-Sun). 
    • We will also be appearing at IOE Get Involved Sessions (Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons), so come check us out!  
    • On Thursday afternoon, we will be joining other societies and the IOE Welcome Team to host the IOE Undergraduate Social Mixer, where there will be lots of fun activities and opportunities to meet your peers. Come and join us! 
  • Welfare Events: 
    • Stay updated with our many upcoming welfare events via SU and Instagram. Stay excited to join us for our activities, especially around like Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s, and society collaborations! 
  • IOE Ball: 
    • Get ready to dress up and join us for a memorable evening filled with music, good food, and lasting memories at our exclusive IOE ball this spring. Be sure to spread the word! 

Academic and Career: 

  • Join us for our academic events where lecturers from the Department of Psychology and Human Development and others renowned in the field share their research in student-friendly and accessible talks. Join us to stay informed about the latest hot topics in these fields! 
  • Further into the academic year, we'll host Peer Support Events tailored for Psychology with Education students, emphasising peer mentoring. Look out for our informative sessions designed to assist you with your studies and career ambitions. 
  • We will be holding a series of Panel Events on different topics throughout the term, where lecturers from the Department of Psychology and Human Development, along with other renowned figures in the field, will share their research through student-friendly and accessible talks, as well as their academic and career journeys. Join us to stay informed about the latest hot topics in these fields! 
  • Keep an eye out for our Career Fair we are planning in collaboration with other IOE societies in term 2 - a chance to meet professionals working your dream jobs and network with them! 
  • We will also send out newsletters via email to share volunteering or research assistant opportunities related to education or psychology. If you join our society, remember to check your inbox!
