Welcome to RUMS Women’s Hockey Club!
We are the women's medics hockey club, but open to all students studying at UCL. We have 2 competitive teams and a development squad, so plenty of opportunities for everybody to get involved! Many members start off as complete beginners and our excellent coaching and fitness sessions set you up with all the skills you’ll need to keep improving. For those who are more experienced, our high performance 1st XI are always looking for talented players.
Our weekly training schedule:
- Monday 18:00-20:00: Team training at Southgate Hockey Centre
- Wednesday afternoons: League matches (home games played in Southgate)
- Saturdays: England Hockey London Knockout Championship matches
- Sundays: Mixed matches with the men's club (home games played at Lee Valley Olympic pitches)
- Fitness sessions arranged by team captains
Socials:
We have plenty of socials to keep everybody bonding throughout the year! Freshers, Wednesday will soon become your favourite day of the week! Wednesday is Sports Night at Mully's Basement Bar - always guaranteed to be a laugh and a great opportunity to keep up team spirits! We have introduced a variety of new socials over the last couple of years including: Diwali night, team potlucks, pub quizzes, karaoke and our annual Christmas Dinner! We also have plenty of socials with the men's club: pub crawls, a weekend tour to a surprise city in the UK, RUMS Sports Ball, and the annual End of Season Dinner.
