UCL Dancing le Rock Society aims to teach French rock, an easy partner dance from the 80s. Common in European countries such as France, Germany, Austria or Belgium, we would like to share this fun cultural dance with all UCL students.🕺🏼💃
We will demonstrate and teach new moves at the beginning of each session. We will also be practising the moves from the previous weeks. We will ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to danse, no one will be left without a partner! Please wear anything you are comfortable dancing in (this dance may involve a lot of spins and dips)! 👗👔
This customisable and dynamic dance, which can also be acrobatic for the bravest, remains an enjoyable way to exercise and free yourself after a hard day of study. It’s also a great way to meet fun and interesting people with a common hobby. ✨
All levels of dancers are welcome, from complete beginners to advanced! No previous dancing experience whatsoever is required for you to participate! Lessons will be adapted to all the different skill levels of our members. You might be a little intimidated at first, but do not worry, this partner dance is relatively easy to pick up! 🤩
Our standard membership grants you access to all our dancing lessons and social dancing sessions, including special events throughout the year ! 🙌
Some of our past social events included dancing in Regent’s park at sunset, a Christmas party featuring a live band and photographer, hanging out at the bar, karaoke, inter-society dance exchange workshops and more…
