Pi Media is at the heart of journalism at UCL, and I have had the most wonderful time this past year working with the Pi team as Welfare Officer and News Editor. As an active member of Pi who is familiar with our operations, I would love to continue contributing to our community as Events Officer next year.

My priority is to further grow our participants, build a greater sense of collective community, and find more opportunities to showcase our writers' work. As a POC, I would also work to encourage engagement from an even wider range of backgrounds.

I was Event Production Assistant at Vogue HK last summer, meaning I have experience successfully organising large-scale events under tight deadlines. During my time as Welfare Officer, I was often contacted by students who wished to join but were unsure where to start. As Events Officer, I would host social events that allow new members to integrate into Pi by meeting other contributors, making the process less daunting. Being an English student, I am also up-to-date with journalism-related events in London, and I would organise opportunities to promote our writers’ work outside of UCL. I would also invite those working in journalism to come share their experience and insight.

I truly believe that journalism is a superpower, providing people with the freedom to choose what to believe in and what to fight for. There is nothing more fulfilling or liberating than that, and I would love to be an active force driving this in Pi.
