Emily Yang

Hello everyone! My name is Emily, and I am a first-year Biomedical Sciences student running for Secretary.

I was thrilled to resume fencing at UCL, enjoying both novice and experienced classes, as well as the sense of community that came with our training and social events. I am eager to use my skills and experiences to become an integral part of the society and give something back to our community.

As secretary, organisational skills and effective time management are essential. Previously, I served as the Chairperson of the Student Council at my school, where I was responsible for conducting meetings and writing minutes.

Additionally, I was the House Captain and managed its Instagram account (+500 followers). My duties included uploading stories and posts, replying to queries and advertising events. This experience has familiarised me with the professional use of social media and designing unique contents.

In terms of society involvement, I have held positions as Treasurer and President of my high school’s Environmental Society. This year, I served as the first-year representative for my course and various cultural societies, which has helped me become well-acquainted with UCL regulations and the SU system.

If elected, I will ensure smooth communication within the committee and with our members. I am also committed to upholding the reputation of the society with engaging presentations on social media.

Hanna Gos

My name is Hanna and I'm a 2nd year student of Management Science here at UCL. I've been around the Fencing Club for the past 2 years, started as a Novice and now you can also see me at the Thursday and Saturday sessions as I will never turn down a good epee sparring! This year, I decided to get more involved in the club by running for this position! I want to assist the committee in running the club, whether it's organising and planning training sessions, and social events or doing the paperwork for Students' Union. I hope to utilise my experience from other society roles (such us Head of Events at Polish Soc and Sponsorship Exec at ESG Soc) and my degree to ensure the smooth running of the club!

I hope I can get your vote and see you at the training sessions!
