Hi everyone! I’m Zoya and I want to be your treasurer for UCLDRS. I have a keen interest in neurodegenerative diseases and want to work as a researcher in this field. By interning in the financial sector, I have gained experience in processing financial transactions whilst adhering to strict regulations and maintaining excellent relationships with clients. This will allow me to accurately record society expenses and ensure accurate budgeting. As treasurer, I would ensure a smooth running of this society without financial problems. I would provide accountability and transparency in financial matters and keep all financial records up to date. I believe as treasurer , I would provide enough funding to host memorable events that will bring the society together.

Gargi Gupta

I would like to nominate myself for the position of Volunteering Officer in the Dementia Research Society because I am deeply passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by dementia. Having spent countless hours volunteering in various capacities, I understand the importance of community involvement and support in driving forward vital research initiatives. If I become the volunteering officer, I plan to organise more volunteering opportunities with dementia patients and more fundraising opportunities.

Asmii Ullengal

Hi, I am a pharmacology student at UCL, about to go into my final year, and I would like to be treasurer for the UCL dementia research society. I’m very passionate about dementia research, particularly Alzheimer’s. Through my course at UCL, I’ve studied a lot about the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases and current therapies being research. This is a field of research that I’m hoping to get into in the future.

I was thrilled to find that we have a dementia research society at UCL. I want to make this society more accessible to the student body and increase participation. I want to apply for the treasurer role so that I can allocate more funds towards organising engaging events and that will help bring students with similar interests together. I am confident in my abilities of allocating funds, keeping track of the society’s financial records, and finding ways to maximise financial utility. I am a highly organised individual and I love working with numbers.

This would be a wonderful opportunity to merge my interest in financial management with desire to make an impact in UCL’s dementia research community. Not to mention I would be honoured to work alongside like-minded individuals and make friendships in the process!
